Guest Post & Giveaway: "Come Hither" by Sandra Sookoo

We have Sandra Sookoo stopping by Romance Book Junkies today on her book tour to do a guest post and tell us about a awesome tour wide giveaway.

Giving new life to old tales

Thanks for having me on your blog!

Anyone who knows me also knows I’m a big fan of fairy tales—old, new and retold.  Fairy tales are one thing every reader has in common.  We’ve all read them in various versions.  They’re comfortable.  They’re warm.  We all know going in that we’re promised a happily ever after.

Sigh.

Yup, that’s why I love them.

But, of course, I couldn’t march to the beat of my own drum if I didn’t try to put my own spin on the classics.  When Liquid Silver Books announced their Silver Slipper call for reworked fairy tales, my brain went into overdrive thinking about what I could do with that.  I was in heaven.  I’d already had two reimagined fairy tales (WISHFUL THINKING which came out last December and FRACTURED which came out in February) but I needed more.  My muse wanted another shot at something else.

So COME HITHER was born.  The great thing about doing fairy tales in the modern day is…well, it’s modern with electricity and technology plus normal clothes that don’t include long, heavy layers, society restraints or careful language.  Which is good because COME HITHER is raw and graphic LOL

Why?  Life’s messy, dirty and real.  Riley’s pretty much the same and she doesn’t apologize for it.  That’s one of the reasons Carson likes her.

My heroine in COME HITHER is a bit different, as she’s a wolf shifter and a real bad-ass gal.  She’s not real fond of people telling her what to do and she’s certainly not into the drama that goes along with her wolf pack.  The great thing about her is that she’s a sucker for a guy in uniform—even if he is a bit of a geek.

I hope you’ll pick up a copy of COME HITHER and check out my other reimagined fairy tales as well.  Here’s a question for you:  which fairy tale would you love to see rewritten into modern times?

Heroes don’t wear capes and heroines sometimes have fur.  This ain’t your grandma’s fairytale.
Riley Hanson has fate by the balls.  She’s a kick-ass wolf-shifter who’s not afraid to tell people off, especially if they try to suggest how to live her life.  She lives with her grandma in the Wisconsin woods, hoping to keep the worst of humanity away.
Carson Hoode, the guy every woman wants to talk to but not date, drives a truck for Red Riders Express. Six months off a divorce, the only thing he’s got going for him is a perfect delivery record, except a heavy October downpour and a muddy road threaten it.  As he tries to finish his route on foot, he slips and wrenches his knee. The business end of Riley’s rifle closes out his day.
The fur and pheromones fly as Riley and Carson battle their attraction while eluding a back woods hunter intent on bagging more than local wildlife.  They’ll need a healthy dose of fairytale magic to survive—too bad there’s no such thing.  Now, if only Grandma would give them some privacy because someone’s getting laid at the end.

Sandra is a writer of romantic fiction.  Her portfolio includes historical, contemporary, sci-fi and paranormal romances in full-length books as well as shorts and novellas.  No matter if the heat level is scorching or sweet, she loves to blend genres and often times will add humor as well.
When not immersed in creating new worlds and interesting characters, Sandra likes to read, bake and travel.  Her favorite place to spend vacation hours is Walt Disney World.  It’s where dreams come true and the soul can play.  When she’s not writing, she’s keeping things interesting at the Believing is Seeing blog or spending time with her husband.

Tour long Giveaway: Prize up for grabs at the end of the tour: One $20.00 Amazon gift card. The more posts a person comments on, the greater number of times their name gets into the hat. Prize winner will be announce on her blog and on the social media site for both Sandra Sookoo and Sizzling PR.
