Character Interview with Jade
Today we have Jade Kendal with us, heroine of Boone Brux’s new release, Kiss of the Betrayer. Thank you for joining us, Jade.
J: I’m happy to be here.
Q: So Jade, let’s cut to the quick. Why did you try to kill Luc?
J: Kill is such a strong word.
Q: You stabbed him.
J: Yes, but it was just a misunderstanding.
Q: So, you didn’t mean to stab him?
J: No, I did, but that was before we worked out our differences. We’re fine now.
Q: I’d say you’re fine. Tell me what went through your head when Luc stripped down to his naked goodness and entered the hot pools.
J: Nothing went through my head. Nor could I breathe, nor speak, nor look away. *Telling pause* He’s very—pleasing to look at.
Q: Agreed! Let’s talk about your sister. She used to date Luc, didn’t she?
J: He did court her when they were younger, but that was a long time ago.
Q: No sisterly rivalry?
J: A bit, but only because Rell was angry that I wouldn’t kill Luc.
Q: Yes, I can see where that would put a strain on your relationship with her. Can I be blunt?
Q: Your sister has a few—emotional issues.
J: That is an understatement. But to be fair, she had gotten a raw deal for most of her adult life. You’ll have to read the book to find out exactly why, but once you do, you’ll see she’s had cause to be a little snippy.
Q: I don’t want to give away any of the exciting points in the story, but your sister had her own agenda, didn’t she?
J: I guess so. Her whole existence has been geared toward killing Luc. I’m fairly certain she never thought beyond that goal. It really wasn’t healthy.
Q: Let’s talk about something more pleasant. Are there wedding bells in your future?
J: I can’t really say. We’ve got a lot going on right now—an epic battle with the Demon Bane—healing my sister—finding a very important person that could change the course of our struggle—rescuing all the frozen Bringers from the Shadow World. Getting married is at the bottom of our list. There’s no guarantee that either Luc or I will come out of this alive.
Q: You’re tough and wily, I’m fairly certain you’ll be just fine. One final question. What do you think of the author, Boone Brux?
J: *Silently contemplates the question* Well, I’m a little miffed about the whole torture incident in the Shadow World, but she made up for it in the end. I like her—but I don’t trust her.
Q: Words to live by. Thank you for joining us and Merry Christmas to you and the rest of the Bringers.
J: Merry Christmas to you too and all the wonderful readers out there.

For fifteen years Luc Le Daun has blamed himself for the death of the woman he loved. His secret guilt has led him into a life of danger, risking all and committing to none.
Killing Luc Le Daun has been all Jade Kendell has thought about for years. But when her plan goes awry and she's brought into the Bringers' fold, her own dark secret threatens to be revealed. Desire for a better life wars with a promise made long before she understood the ramifications.
In a deadly mission, Jade and Luc embark on a journey into the Shadow World. As they attempt the impossible, ignoring the attraction growing between them becomes harder to deny. The slightest misstep could mean the loss of their souls and give the Demon King exactly what he needs to open the Abyss of Souls and annihilate the Bringers.
As a multi-published and an award winning author, Boone's writing drips with experiences from real life. Addicted to anything that might make a good story, she weaves tales that range from dark fantasy to humorous romance. Settled in the icy regions of Alaska with the love of her life and twin daughters, it's not uncommon to find her tapping away on her iPad on a windy beach or the barren tundra. Be warned, anyone and every even is fodder for one of Boone's novels.
